    • Dr. Alexei Trout is board certified in internal medicine and is a hospitalist with St. Joseph’s Hospital-South. He provides only inpatient care within a hospital setting and is not available for appointments. He will be responsible for you and your loved one’s care while in our hospital and will partner with your primary care physician on any necessary follow-up care to assist with your continued care, once you return to your home. Dr. Trout received his Bachelor of Science in biology from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. He then earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky. Dr. Trout continued his medical education by completing an internal medicine residency at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Additionally, he earned a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in health care management from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. Dr. Trout is also certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the American Osteopathic Association and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
