Dr. Alex Corey is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist working for BayCare Medical Group, serving patients in the Clearwater, Florida area. She sees patients, age 12 and older, in her clinic and does gynecologic surgery and provides labor and delivery care at Morton Plant Hospital. Dr. Corey was born in Tampa and grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, before heading to Georgetown University to earn her Bachelor of Arts in French literature. She also studied the Spanish language and is able to communicate in Spanish as well. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida, then completed her residency at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana. While in residency, she focused her research and training on reproductive health, family planning, and minimally invasive surgery. She previously worked in private practice in Detroit, Michigan, where she also taught resident physicians. Dr. Corey is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
