Dr. Akm Mosharraf Hossain is board certified in oncology and internal medicine. He serves the Plant City, Florida area as part of BayCare Medical Group, where he sees patients age 18 and older. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka University, Bangladesh. He also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in biostatistics. Dr. Hossain continued his medical education by completing residencies in internal medicine and psychiatry at the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. He then completed a hematology and oncology fellowship at Marry Babb Randolph Cancer Center, West Virginia University. Dr. Hossain served as an associate professor and medical director for the Division of Hematology and Oncology at University of Missouri before joining BayCare Medical Group.
Dr. Hossain is an accomplished author, having contributed articles and scientific papers on hematology and oncology in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood, Cancer and American Journal of Psychiatry. His clinical interests include solid tumor treatment and bone marrow transplant. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American College of Psychiatry, American College of Physicians and the American Association of Public Health. Dr. Hossain speaks fluent Bengali, Hindi and Urdu.
