    • Dr. Nelson Lezcano is board certified in internal medicine and provides only inpatient care within a hospital setting and is not available for appointments. Dr. Lezcano earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in clinical biochemistry and physiology, respectively, at the National University of Cordoba in Cordoba, Argentina. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia. He served an internship and his internal medicine residency as chief resident at Palmetto General Hospital, through Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hialeah, Florida. Prior to joining BayCare Medical Group, Dr. Lezcano served as a physician at assisted living facilities in south Florida. He has also held positions as a postdoctoral fellow, a research associate, and as an instructor at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine (now Georgia Regents University). He has a long history of volunteerism, most recently serving as a physician at Indian and Migrant Worker health fairs. He has volunteered as a Spanish teacher for medical students, as a medical interpreter in social services departments and clinics, with the Make-A-Wish foundation, and as President of the Latin American Service Association. Dr. Lezcano’s medical interests include blood, renal and liver diseases. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, and American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Lezcano is fluent in Spanish.
