Our Commitment to Academic Medicine

BayCare has been a long-time leader in West Central Florida's health, with a mission to serve our communities' growing needs. As a part of this commitment, we've taken several key steps to evolve from a health care system to a comprehensive academic health care system. BayCare has already committed to helping train 650 physicians and specialists by 2029 through our Graduate Medical Education programs. And since 2019, we've nearly doubled the number of clinical research trials and projects. BayCare is now taking a final key step in becoming the region's leading academic health care system by collaborating with Northwestern Medicine, renowned for university-backed, leading-edge research, world-class physicians and groundbreaking treatments. That's the kind of commitment that moves West Central Florida forward. That's the BayCare effect.
