Lewis Family "Swing for the Cure"

The Lewis Family Cancer Fund (LFCF), within the GiveWell Community Foundation, was founded in 2010 by two brothers Josh and Geoff Lewis. The fund was established to help promote public awareness and assist in funding research development in the prevention and cure of cancer. LFCF is committed to further advances in research and to alert the public of the importance of early detection and diagnosis. Proceeds raised from this two-day event benefit the Winter Haven Hospital Cassidy Cancer Center.

Established in 2012 by John & Tracy Scheck, the Polk County Cup Tennis Tournament was started with the mission to raise funds to support the tiniest of patients served at the Winter Haven Women’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This year, with the assistance from Mike & Janine Mahalak, the event has an entirely new name. In addition to tennis, “Fore the Love”, will now include golf and a tailgate party. All proceeds raised from this year’s event will be utilized locally to support the following:
  • Help underwrite services to support the care of premature and sick babies cared for at Winter Haven Women’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Locally support the most current and urgent needs of Winter Haven Hospital patients
Enjoy a an 18-hole four man scramble event at the premier Country Club of Winter Haven – OR – play doubles tennis at the Club’s exclusive clay courts. Join in after the golf and tennis tournament at our Tailgate Party, complete with all the big games televised plus live entertainment by Coastal Acoustic Barefoot Music. Don’t miss this day of fun for a great cause!!
