Department of Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmacy is committed to providing high quality comprehensive and cost-effective pharmaceutical care to the patients we serve. We are dedicated to providing education and training for health care practitioners to improve patient care.

The Department of Pharmacy is responsible for medication distribution and clinical pharmacy services for three hospitals on campus: St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, and St. Joseph's Women's Hospital.  These hospitals comprise approximately 900 acute care beds. The Department of Pharmacy consists of more than 100 team members including more than 50 clinical pharmacists, 40 pharmacy technicians, administrative and support personnel, and pharmacy residents.

We provide clinical services in a variety of fields including hematology/oncology, cardiology, critical care, surgery, nutritional support, emergency medicine, internal medicine, women's health, neonatal intensive care, and pediatrics.

Clinical pharmacists are actively involved in medication order review, therapeutic monitoring, patient care planning and management, student and resident education, and are an integral part of the St. Joseph's health care team. Pharmacy technicians play a critical role in the drug distribution system with the use of an automated point of care dispensing system.
