Behavioral Health

There are a variety of reasons that mental health disorders may affect women differently than they do men or children. Life experiences, hormones, reproductive cycle changes and social factors can all contribute to the way that women experience and manage sources of stress in their lives. In fact, The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that women are twice as likely as men to experience depression and anxiety. About 1 in 5 women will develop depression at some point in their lives. BayCare strives to offer a comprehensive range of behavioral health services throughout the Tampa Bay area that are tailored to meet the unique emotional and psychiatric needs of women in all stages of life.
