Testicular Torsion Repair

The spermatic cord is the group of blood vessels that go to the scrotum. The spermatic cord can become twisted because of defective tissue in the scrotum or injury to the scrotum. When the spermatic cord becomes twisted, blood supply is stopped to the testicles and scrotum tissue. Testicular torsion repair untwists and straightens the spermatic cord. Testicular torsion repair must be done immediately after symptoms appear and it is diagnosed, usually from an imaging procedure. A loss of a testicle is possible without immediate surgery.
