Trigger Point Injections (TPI)

Trigger points are muscle knots under the skin that form when muscles do not relax. Trigger point injections are sometimes used to treat these painful muscle spasms and areas. A small needle with an anesthetic, corticosteroid or saline is injected into the trigger point to make it inactive and alleviate pain.
