Multiple Sleep Latency Test

A multiple sleep latency test is used to diagnose sleep disorders such as narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia. The patient is tested up to five naps throughout the day. The test is performed in a quiet and comfortable environment and measures the time it takes for the patient to fall asleep and records their sleep stages. A multiple sleep latency test requires a doctor referral.
