Dehydration Care

Dehydration happens when the body does not have the water and fluid it needs. This occurs when children don't drink enough water and/or lose fluids from sweating, vomiting or diarrhea. Symptoms include lethargy, a rapid heart beat and low blood pressure while standing. BayCare Medical Group Pediatric Extended Care at Carrollwood may use intravenous fluids (IV) when the dehydration is severe.
