Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) - Tommy John Procedure

Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction surgery is when an elbow ligament is replaced with a tendon from another part of a patient's body, usually from a foot, forearm, hamstring, hip or knee. This is a common procedure for athletes and is usually referred to as "Tommy John surgery." Tommy John was a former baseball pitcher and the first to undergo the surgery.
