Interventional Imaging Services in Tampa Bay

With the increased availability of high-quality imaging equipment and the improved ability to see inside the body, radiologists have been able to apply their medical expertise in reading CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds and other diagnostic tests to diagnose and treat conditions without traditional surgery. Called interventional radiology, these procedures are conducted by physicians with special training and have become state-of-the-art treatments.

Interventional radiologists are board-certified radiologists who are fellowship trained in percutaneous interventions using guided imaging. Their specialized training is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Interventional radiology offers a number of advantages over surgery:

  • Most procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, or require only a short hospital stay
