CT-Guided Biopsy

In a computed tomography (CT)-guided biopsy, elaborate images from a CT scan accurately guide the doctor to insert a needle into the tissue requiring biopsy. A sample is removed with the needle and syringe and sent to a pathology lab for testing. It is a minimally invasive procedure that can be done on an outpatient basis.
