Hepatobiliary Iminodiacetic Acid (HIDA) Scan

A hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid (HIDA) scan produces images of the bile ducts, gallbladder, liver and small intestine to determine how much bile you are producing and how it flows from your liver to your small intestine. It is a noninvasive procedure utilizing a radioactive material to show specific areas of your organs.
