Pediatric Services

Pediatric and Congenital Heart Services refers to the services that treat infants, children, adolescents and adults who have congenital heart defects or pediatric heart disease. Congenital refers to a condition that is present “at birth.” Cardiovascular disease acquired after birth is much rarer in children than adults. Two of the most common forms of heart disease acquired by children are rheumatic heart disease and Kawasaki disease.
