Endoscopic Zenkers Diverticulum Repair

Endoscopic Zenker's Diverticulum Repair

Endoscopic Zenker's diverticulum repair corrects a pouch in the throat above the upper esophagus. The pouch prevents food digestion, causes swallowing problems, halitosis, coughing, throat irritation and regurgitation. The pouch is identified through a scope inserted into the mouth and then the pouch is removed. The pouch mostly occurs in the elderly and is named Zenker's diverticulum for the German pathology professor who did extensive studies of it.
