Lung Needle Biopsy

Lung Needle Biopsy

A lung needle biospy takes out a small sample of lung tissue for analysis. A biopsy needle is injected into the chest wall at the location of an abnormal tissue or tumor. X-rays and chest CT scans can reveal the abnormal tissue or tumor near the lung surface, in the lung or on the chest wall. A lung needle biospy is used in the diagnosis of cancer or to rule it out. The biopsy is done after abnormal results from the X-ray or chest CT scan.
