Endometrial Biopsy

An endometrial biopsy takes a small tissue sample from the endometrium (lining of the uterus) for analysis. A small instrument is inserted into the uterus to collect the tissue. This test is conducted to try and find out causes of bleeding after menopause, irregular periods or a thick uterus discovered on an ultrasound.
