Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer

While most breast lumps will not be cancer, it is important to have your doctor check any lump or growth that is out of the ordinary and located on or around the breast or in the underarm area. While the majority of cancerous breast lumps are painless and hard, some tumors may be soft and painful. Other signs and symptoms include:

• Nipple discharge
• Nipple turns slightly inward
• Redness or scaliness of the nipple
• Skin irritation or dimpling of breast skin
• Swelling of all or part of the breast
• Unexplained shrinkage of one or both breasts
