Peripheral Neuropathy Surgery

Peripheral neuropathy surgery treats nerves carrying information to and from the brain or nerves carrying signals to and from the spinal cord to the rest of the body. Surgery is an option when these nerves do not function properly. Damage can be to one nerve or to a nerve group. If the peripheral neuropathy condition is caused by carpel tunnel or a ruptured disc or tumor, surgery can help to alleviate pain. Reconstructive surgery may be necessary for structural changes as the neuropathy advances.
