AVMs

Morton Plant Hospital has one of the only specialized neurosurgical centers in the area to offer innovative new surgical and non-surgical treatments for cerebrovascular abnormalities, such as arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). An AVM is an abnormal collection of blood vessels that impedes the normal delivery of blood to surrounding tissues. Many people are born with these malformations, but they are unaware of them. AVMs can rupture at any time and are considered one of the leading causes of stroke in people under the age of 65.
