Morton Plant North Bay Hospital Recovery Center - an expansion of Morton Plant North Bay Hospital and BayCare Behavioral Health services - is located on a picturesque, tranquil 6.5 acres in Lutz, with easy access to all major highways and Tampa International Airport. A 72-bed, co-ed facility, the Center is the first freestanding psychiatric hospital in Pasco County and is a Baker Act-receiving facility.

Treatment at the Center includes acute care services, inpatient psychiatric crisis stabilization as well as medication management, case management and crisis intervention and support. You will get the best possible care from admission to discharge to continued care. The Center's medical staff provides a specialized, multidisciplinary team approach to patient care, focusing on the unique needs of each patient. Highly skilled, board-certified psychiatrists and nursing staff are dedicated to developing and delivering treatment plans.

Diet and physical activity is important to mental well-being; important peripheral services at the Center include a staff nutritionist and kitchen facilities, and an on-site gymnasium and recreational therapist.

Whether an individual is experiencing mild depression or a severe, persistent mental illness, help is available. Mental health treatment programs include:

Acute Care Services

Acute care services are provided by the Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit and the Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit. Programs are offered that provide a safe, healing environment for medically stable persons. These include psychiatric services through a physician and/or advanced registered nurse practitioner, psycho-educational groups, family therapy, skills training and discharge/aftercare planning.

Substance Use Services

Group counseling is the preferred treatment choice for many people and is available at convenient times. Family involvement and 12-step programs are always emphasized.
