Interventional Neuroradiology
Interventional neuroradiology is a minimally invasive approach for the treatment of vascular diseases and conditions - such as stroke, aneurysms and brain tumors - that would otherwise require surgery. With interventional neuroradiology, materials are inserted into blood vessels to decrease or increase the supply of blood or to correct abnormalities. These minimally invasive procedures can often be performed under sedation, but without general anesthesia, which can speed a patient’s recovery. In other cases, an interventional treatment is combined with a surgical procedure.
In addition to a highly qualified, experienced team of physicians and surgeons, including a fellowship-trained interventional neuroradiologist and a fellowship-trained stroke neurologist, our dedicated neurosurgical unit delivers exceptional post-operative care. We also offer a comprehensive program of testing, treatment and preventative education at The Neurosciences Institute.
