Rehabilitation
The Rehabilitation Services team at BayCare Alliant Hospital provides rehab services to patients who have complex medical problems with a rehabilitation program that is individualized to meet their needs. The program prepares both patients and family members with a goal for a safe return home. By encouraging a nurturing and positive environment, a supportive interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists and discharge planners work together to help patients achieve their highest level of independent functioning.
We offer physical, occupational and speech therapy. Therapy services vary depending on the patient’s ability to participate. Physical therapy typically consists of one to two sessions of 30-60 minutes, six days per week. Occupational therapy and speech therapy are generally one session of 30-60 minutes, five days per week. The patient’s therapy program is tailored to meet their specific rehab needs and will be adjusted to meet their capabilities. Learn more about our respiratory therapy which is a dedicated program.
Patients are often on isolation precautions; in those cases, therapies will be performed in the patient’s room. Therapists “bring the gym to you” by bringing equipment to the bedside such as a pedal bike, weights, exercise bands, communication aids and feeding and dressing equipment.
