Don't Say No to Nuts

Nuts are high in calories and fat, but they are healthful if eaten in moderate quantities. Nutrition experts say that some nuts are good sources of thiamin, niacin, phosphorus and folate. Others are sources of selenium, copper, magnesium and manganese. Nuts are also rich in flavonoids, antioxidants that help prevent damage to the body by free radicals. This damage may contribute to cancer and cardiovascular disease.
