Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, BayCare
Dr. Nishant Anand, MD, FACEP, is Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of BayCare, a leading, not-for-profit health care system that connects individuals and families to a wide range of services at 15 hospitals and hundreds of other convenient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and central Florida regions. BayCare's inpatient and outpatient services include acute care, primary care, imaging, laboratory, behavioral health, home care and wellness. Dr. Anand is responsible for leading the BayCare physician agenda and directing efforts to improve quality, safety and efficiency of clinical care across the system. He also oversees BayCare Physician Partners (BPP), one of the first clinically integrated networks in Florida.

Kris Betts is the Director of Team Resources for the BayCare Health System Hospital Division, a leading community-based health system serving patients in four counties in the Tampa Bay Region – Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Polk. Kris began her human resources career in 1994 working in several large healthcare companies across the United States and has touched almost all aspects of human resources. Kris joined BayCare in 2015 as the Director of Team Resources for the West Region hospitals, then expanded her oversight in 2016 to all BayCare hospitals. Kris serves on multiple committees across BayCare and leads a team of 20 team resources professionals based at BayCare’s 15 hospitals. She is also on the project team for BayCare’s 16th hospital, opening March 2023. Kris and her team are integral to hospital operations, supporting team members and management on all aspects of team resources. Kris has a Master’s degree in Business and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, both from Georgia State University.
Angel Brown is the Director of Recruitment and Talent Acquisition for BayCare Health System, a leading community-based health system serving patients in four counties in the Tampa Bay Region – Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Polk. Angel began her career at BayCare’s St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1989 and has been part of the system’s Team Resources leadership team since 2000. As one of the largest employers in the area, with 15 not-for-profit hospitals, 380 access points, and over 28,000 team members, Angel supports BayCare’s Workforce Planning Strategy as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure a continuous talent pipeline for the organization. She also leads BayCare's system-wide talent acquisition strategy with a team of forward-thinking individuals who challenge the status quo and look for innovative ways to recruit a diverse workforce. Angel graduated from St. Leo University with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.

Kirksak Jay Poonkasem, MD, FAAFP, ABOIM, DipABLM, NASM-CPT, NASM-CES, is board certified in family medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, lifestyle medicine and integrative medicine. His clinical specialties are lifestyle medicine, medical acupuncture and integrative medicine. While working in hospice care, Dr. Poonkasem saw the long-term implications of poor lifestyle choices which lead to chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, chronic lung disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and chronic kidney disease. He believes in an integrative approach to health and wellness, taking into account the mind, body and spiritual connection, and getting back to the basics of nutrition, sleep, exercise and stress management to rebuild health through lifestyle modifications. Dr. Poonkasem is certified in plant-based nutrition and massage therapy, and as a personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist. He’s a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture and the Florida Medical Association.
