Fred H. Brennan, Jr., MD

Dr. Brennan spent 12 years as an active duty Army physician after completing his sports medicine fellowship. He then joined the family medicine residency faculty as their Director of Sports Medicine at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC. In 2000, he transferred to the Fort Belvoir Family Medicine Residency Program serving as the Director of Sports Medicine for the residency and the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. In 2004, he was selected as the Director of the military’s Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, training four fellows per year. After almost 10 years in private practice and serving as the head team physician at the University of New Hampshire, Dr. Brennan recently returned to his passion for teaching at the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency Program where he teaches in the residency and is the Assistant Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.

He enjoys doing all outdoor activities with his five children and wife. He loves to run and participate in triathlons. Having served more than 24 years in the military, engaged in two combat tours including a year in Iraq as a trauma physician in Baghdad, he realizes how precious life is. Exercise and laugh a little every day. Enjoy the simple things in life and be thankful for your family and friends. And be thankful for the freedoms you have as American.
