Dr. Lawrence initially intended to pursue pediatrics, but soon found that it was the variety and continuity of family medicine that she loved best. She entered the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency, where she served as Chief Resident in her third year.
In 2004, she joined the faculty of the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency. This has enabled her to remain in a stimulating academic environment, provide indigent care for the community, and still be a cradle-to-grave primary care provider. Dr. Lawrence's professional interests include pediatrics, women's health, obesity, and medical student education. She is Medical Director of the Turley Family Health Center, Chairman of the Clinical Competency Committee, and a preceptor for the USF COM Doctoring 1 course. In 2016, she was the recipient of the FAFP Exemplary Full-Time Educator of the Year award. She is board-certified in obesity medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Lawrence enjoys spending quality time with her two children, husband, and extended family. She enjoys paddle boarding on Florida’s beautiful coast, running and reading.
