Internal Medicine Physician Joins Haines City Clinic

POLK COUNTY, Fla., (March 17, 2021) – A new BayCare Medical Group internal medicine physician is now seeing patients in the Haines City community.

Dr. Joyce Roberts is accepting new patients ages 18 and up at the clinic, located at 36245 Highway 27, adjoining the Urgent Care center.

Dr. Roberts became interested in medicine as a girl growing up in eastern Pennsylvania. “I had several family members who were dealing with various illnesses and I got to watch them be treated by great medical professionals,” she recalled. “It made me want to be able to help people in that way.”

She graduated from King's College in Pennsylvania as a physician assistant, then earned her medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Scranton Temple Residency Program in Pennsylvania, eventually earning her master’s in healthcare administration degree at Scranton Temple.

Dr. Roberts has been practicing for 35 years and is passionate about preventive medicine, helping patients take charge of their health by developing good habits. She also specializes in geriatrics and the management of heart disease and diabetes.

She lives in Davenport and likes to visit local antique thrift stores in her spare time. She also enjoys visiting with her son, a student at UCF.

Dr. Roberts accepts most major insurance plans.
