Morton Plant Hospital Collecting Memorabilia and Stories for 100th Celebration

CLEARWATER, Fla., (July 14, 2015) -- Morton Plant Hospital is seeking the community’s help as it prepares to celebrate 100 years of providing high-quality, compassionate care to the community. The hospital is inviting the community to share their artifacts and their memories.

Do you remember Morton Plant Hospital from past decades? Do you have old photos or articles about the hospital? Were you a medical professional or volunteer who worked at the hospital many years ago or for many years? Were you born there years ago?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Morton Plant Hospital wants to hear from you. The hospital needs photos, articles, medical tools or equipment, and commemorative items that represent the history of the hospital, as well as your favorite recollections and fond memories of the hospital.

The artifacts, which can be returned, will be used to create a display to showcase Morton Plant Hospital’s rich history of serving the community. The more items the hospital receives, the more complete the display can be.

To contribute items, go to www.MortonPlant100.org . The website contains more information and a link to a “Memorabilia Form” to complete and include with any items you provide to the hospital. The form provides space for the item description and asks if the item needs to be returned.

You may email photos to Sarah.Murry@BayCare.org or you may mail or drop off original photos, print materials or 3D items to Sarah Murry, Morton Plant Mease Foundation, 1200 Druid Road S, Clearwater, FL 33756.

Please include your name and address on a Post-It on the back of any items you contribute. If you have questions about memorabilia, please contact Sarah Murry, (727) 461-8642.

If you have fond memories and stories to tell of working at the hospital or being a patient, Morton Plant Hospital wants to hear from you as well. In addition to the memorabilia display, Morton Plant Hospital is planning to share stories, memories and anecdotes about the hospital on a special commemorative website.

A link to the “Story Submission” form can be found at www.MortonPlant100.org . The form provides space to write the story, memory or anecdote and can be completed online and emailed to MortonPlant100@BayCare.org or mailed to Morton Plant Hospital Communications Department, MS114, 300 Pinellas Street, Clearwater, FL 33756.

If you have questions about story submissions, please email MortonPlant100@BayCare.org.
