Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty

Vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty are surgical procedures to alleviate painful acute and subacute compression fractures. A substance is injected into the spine bone to prevent collapses. Kyphoplasty differs from a verterbroplasty in that it uses an inflated balloon in the procedure to increase the space between the vertebrae.
