Anticipate Your Costs

Let’s face it, health care costs can be hard to understand and feel somewhat unexpected, but at BayCare, we are committed to making health care better. And that means making the cost of health care easier to understand and plan for. Our goal is to help you know your options and what costs to expect when you have a service at a BayCare facility.

Estimating Costs

BayCare has created a quick, convenient option for you to submit an online request for an estimate. Just use the My Estimator tool, and we will contact you within two business days with an estimate. Do you prefer to get your estimate over the phone? No problem. Just call (813) 852-3116 for assistance Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm. Be sure to have this information with you:

  • Referring physician’s name and phone number
  • The name of your procedure and the procedure code (if known)
  • Insurance information (if you have insurance), including company, member ID, policy number and group number

An important thing to understand about your total cost is that you may receive bills from multiple sources, including your physician, radiologists, pathologists and anesthesiologists. In order to get a full picture of your financial responsibility, we recommend you contact your physician’s office to better understand their costs and the costs of any other health care providers who may be involved in your care.

Accepted Insurance Plans

If you have insurance, it is important to verify that your plan is accepted by your providers. View a list of accepted insurance plans, and be sure to contact your individual insurer to verify coverage.  Not all providers accept the same insurance plans. Be sure to check with your providers before your procedure, if possible.

Financial Assistance

BayCare is a not-for-profit health system committed to improving the health of our community. Our Financial Assistance Department is committed to helping our patients find resources to fund their health care expenses, when they can. Our team will work with you to determine if you qualify for assistance with medical expenses and ongoing medical care. Learn more about Financial Assistance at BayCare.

Price Transparency

The Agency for Health Care Administration has developed two websites that the public can use to learn more about the quality and costs for health care facilities in Florida. This information is available at the Florida Health Finder website and the Florida Health Price Finder websiteThe AHCA pricing website is based on payment information for patients across the state of Florida and is not necessarily reflective of what the actual costs may be for any individual patient. Actual costs will be based on actual services provided to each patient.
