Women's Mental Wellness

Take time out to be mentally well!

Wellness is more than just your physical health. It’s also about being "mentally well”; good mental health is essential to overall well-being. According to the Office on Women’s Health, more than 1 in 5 women in the United States experienced a mental health condition in the past year, such as depression or anxiety. Many mental health conditions affect more women than men or affect women in different ways from men. We have the resources support you on the journey to wellness, every step of the way.

Mental disorders can affect women and men differently. Some disorders are more common in women such as depression and anxiety. There are also certain types of disorders that are unique to women. For example, some women may experience symptoms of mental disorders at times of hormone change, such as perinatal depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and perimenopause-related depression.

Our mission at BayCare is to help women prioritize their own health and enjoy their longevity. We are here to listen and focus on you while providing exceptional care from the moment you schedule your appointment. We have got you!

Postpartum Mental Wellness

In the first few weeks after giving birth, most women experience some mild, short-lasting mood changes and feelings of worry, and exhaustion. If these become severe or last longer than just a few weeks after childbirth they may be signs of postpartum depression. BayCare is here to provide resources and support to help you through any changes in mood after your baby is born.
