Diabetes Education to Support Your Health

The St. Anthony’s LifeHelp Nutrition and Diabetes Center is certified by the American Diabetes Association

We are committed to providing individuals living with diabetes access to the knowledge they need to live well and manage diabetes. Our center offers Diabetes Self-Management Training (DSMT) and Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) sessions to enhance diabetes management. In accordance with the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs our center has received continual certification from the American Diabetes Association since 2003.

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, you owe it to yourself to learn as much as you can about this condition to improve your health and quality of life. Our team focuses on individualizing your education experience to help you live well with diabetes in a way that respects you goals and lifestyle.  

Your First Visit: What to Expect

On your first appointment, a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist / Registered Dietitian will meet with you individually (virtual or in-person session) and ask questions to assess your medical history, diabetes care practices and determine path for your education plan.

If you would like to request a referral form to attend the St. Anthony’s LifeHelp Nutrition and Diabetes Center, please contact us at 727-820-7910. Health insurance plans often allow for both Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) services to support individuals with diabetes. Insurance coverage through Medicare and other health insurance plans can be verified by contacting your insurance provider. In the event you do not have insurance, BayCare financial assistance applications are available per request.
